Quality & Certifications

Quality Philosophy

At KNPZ, quality is not a department — it is the operating philosophy of the entire refinery. From the moment crude feedstock arrives at our gate to the moment certified product departs on a delivery tanker, every process step is governed by documented procedures, measurable parameters, and independent laboratory verification.

Our clients — whether a regional fuel distributor, a mining company, or a municipal infrastructure operator — need confidence that the product they purchase will perform exactly as specified in their equipment and processes. Delivering that confidence, consistently and verifiably, is the central obligation of our quality system.

Laboratory Accreditation

Chemical Analytical Laboratory accredited under Kazakhstan’s national accreditation system for technical competence

In-House Laboratory Capabilities

Our Chemical Analytical Laboratory (CAL) is equipped with modern analytical instrumentation and staffed by qualified chemists. Laboratory accreditation confirms that our test methods, equipment calibration, and result reporting meet the standards required for issue of legally valid product conformity certificates.

  • Density measurement — automatic oscillating U-tube densitometer (GOST 3900)
  • Sulphur content — X-ray fluorescence analyser, ASTM D4294 / GOST R 51947
  • Octane / Cetane number — CFR engine method, GOST 511 / GOST R 52709
  • Flash point — Pensky-Martens closed cup, GOST 6356
  • Pour point and cloud point — GOST 20287
  • Kinematic viscosity — glass capillary viscometer, GOST 33
  • Bitumen penetration — GOST 11501

Product Certification Process

Before any product batch is released for sale, the following certification steps are completed:

  • Batch sampling at production stage and at product tank (composite sample)
  • Full specification analysis by CAL against applicable GOST parameters
  • Laboratory sign-off by qualified chemist with accredited certificate
  • Product conformity certificate (Sertifikat Sootvetstviya) issued per applicable TR CU
  • Dispatch documentation package: conformity certificate, quality passport, and delivery note provided to buyer for each shipment
